The Sun Will Shine Again

January 26, 2016
The Sun Will Shine Again

Sometimes all that life can throw at us feels like it’s just too much. That’s ok. It doesn’t mean we are weak or lacking, it simply means we’ve maxed out our coping skills and need to step back enough to regroup and redirect our energy. Overwhelm in today’s world is natural. Don’t let the charlatans telling you otherwise, fool you, it’s something we all experience when life has its way with us.

Sometimes ALL we are dealt IS too much, so we take deep breaths, slow things down, watch a good movie, read a book, go to the gym, journey to the mountains, river or ocean, and we reach out to our handful, the people we can lean on when the clouds block out the sun and the storm sets in. And we endure. That’s life. And we strive to do so with character, love and integrity. That’s a life worth living. One day at a time (ODAAT) we grind, grow and strengthen our game-plan for dealing with the storms that are inevitable to the human experience, to the experience of strivers and seekers.

Keep striving my friends. Keep seeking.  If enough of us do, I’m confident we will eventually hit our stride.

Here’s a little one for those days when keeping your head above water is the best you can do.  “When your world feels like it’s spinning out of control, slow things down, breath, and reach out to your handful for perspective and support. The sun will shine again. It always does.”

With nothin’ but love, Michael W. Leach

Life Ain’t All Roses and Applesauce

Life Ain’t All Roses and Applesauce

Life is hard. Right, wrong or indifferent, for some it’s harder than others. Despite what we often see on social media, life isn’t all powder face-shots, exotic travels and wave riding. It’s a grind, filled with trials and tribs. People get sick, people get dealt shitty hands, people face overwhelming and daunting obstacles. We can… Continue Reading

Daily Audacious Wisdom: Shallow Brooks Are Noisy

One of my mentors often reminds me that, “shallow brooks are noisy.” We all know there’s a lot of noise out there telling us how we “should” be, what we “should” do and what we are “capable” of. But we must filter the noise because it’s far too often heavy on rhetoric and light on… Continue Reading

Love, Dad

I’m excited to share that I’ve been invited to write a new monthly column for Montana Parent, one of our favorite regional publications.  I’m calling it “Love, Dad.”  This is my freshest piece. It’s near and dear to my heart. I hope you enjoy… Check out the entirety of the January issue at http://www.mtparent.com   Continue Reading

Legacy Matters

Legacy Matters

I’ve always found the beginning of a new calendar year a time of reflection and re-envisioning. Yes, we have to pay the bills, put food on the table and keep a roof overhead, but far too often, what we, as a culture, value or hold in high esteem is meaningless. While social comparisons and pressures… Continue Reading

New Year’s Revolution

New Year’s Revolution

I’ve always struggled with transitions. As much importance as I place on our need to be adaptable and embrace periods of catharses, I sometimes stumble my way through change until I establish (or re-establish) my rhythm and routine. Coming off a two-week Be Audacious sabbatical, I found myself floundering. As a motivator and coach, this… Continue Reading
